Run Woman Run

September 25 & 26

Told with a lighthearted touch, Run Woman Run is a feel-good anti-rom-com about a woman who has to tackle the ghosts of her past before she can run toward a new future. Showtime(s) Director: Zoe Hopkins. Writer: Zoe Hopkins. Producers: Laura Milliken, PJ Thornton, Paula Devonshire.

The Father

October 16 & 17

Anthony (Academy Award Winner, Anthony Hopkins) is 80, mischievous, living defiantly alone and rejecting the carers that his daughter, Anne (Academy Award and Golden Globe Winner, Olivia Colman), encouragingly introduces. Yet help is also becoming a necessity for Anne; she can’t make daily visits anymore and Anthony’s grip on reality is unraveling. As we experience the ebb and flow of his memory, how much of his own identity and past can Anthony cling to? How does Anne cope as she grieves the loss of her father, while he still lives and breathes before her? THE FATHER warmly embraces real life, through loving reflection upon the vibrant human condition; heart-breaking and uncompromisingly poignant — a movie that nestles in the truth of our own lives.

Phantom of the Open

November 6 & 7

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPEN tells the heartwarming true story of Maurice Flitcroft (Mark Rylance), a dreamer and unrelenting optimist. This humble crane operator from Barrow-in-Furness managed to gain entry to The British Open Golf Championship qualifying in 1976, despite never playing a round of golf before. He shot the worst round in Open history and drew the ire of the golfing elite, but became a folk hero in the process and, more importantly, showed his family the importance of pursuing your dreams.

Another Round

November 20 & 21

Oscar for Best International Feature Film in 2021

Another Round (Danish: Druk) is a drama/dark comedy film about four high school teachers who decide to consume alcohol on a daily basis to see how it affects their social and professional lives. Directed with insight and energy by Thomas Vinterberg, and driven by a great ensemble cast (Bonnevie, Millang, Lars Ranthe, and Thomas Bo Larsen) with the incomparable Mads Mikkelsen at its centre, Another Round is a boisterous and sobering comedy about how men deal (and don’t deal) with aging — though underlying it all is a shared, unnerving suspicion they may never have actually grown up in the first place.
