Set in the mid-1980s in a small seaside town in Nova Scotia, Little Lorraine follows a laid-off miner who, desperate to support his family after a mining disaster, is drawn into a dangerous cocaine smuggling ring hidden in plain sight. What begins as a lifeline quickly spirals into an international crime operation, testing loyalty, survival, and the bonds of community in a place pushed to its limits.  Based on the true story that inspired the lyrics to Adam Baldwin’s song of the same name, Little Lorraine is a fascinating mixture of truth and fiction.

Content Advisory:
Contains violence, drug smuggling themes, coarse language, and mature themes of crime, desperation, and moral conflict.

Top Reviews:

“A haunting and atmospheric crime drama that portrays desperation and survival with strong performances and a clear-eyed look at the choices people make when pushed to the brink.”

“Tense and character-driven, Little Lorraine keeps you invested in its world; the relationships around the core smuggling plot give depth to an otherwise gripping thriller.”

“Despite some tonal unevenness, the film’s moody setting and compelling narrative of ordinary people ensnared in crime elevate it above typical genre fare.”
